Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Parvati Kund in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh on Thursday to offer prayers.
He was dressed in local traditional attire, including a turban, and played a power drum and conch shell during the prayer ceremony at the spiritually significant Parvati Kund.
During his visit, PM Modi also performed 'aarti' at the Shiva-Parvati temple located along the banks of Parvati Kund in Jolingkong.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister sought blessings and spent some time meditating in front of the Adi Kailash peak, which is considered to be the abode of Lord Shiva.
During his visit to the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Modi spent a day exploring the border village of Gunji.
Accompanied by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he spent some time interacting with the locals and security personnel,.
Additionally, PM Modi attended an exhibition showcasing the region's local products and artefacts.
In Pithoragarh, PM Modi has a busy schedule ahead. He will inagurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth Rs 4,200 crore. Furthermore, he will address a public meeting to engage with the local community and discuss important matters of concern.
