Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to win 115 seats in Rajasthan, while the ruling Congress will have to satiate with 69 seats. 101 is the majority mark in 200-seat assembly. However, elections were held only on 199 seats.
Meanwhile, Mayawati led-Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Hanuman Beniwal led-Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) secured two seats each. Bharat Adivasi Party is set to win three seats. Independents are leading over seven seats, of these four are BJP rebels.
Talking about vote share, the Congress couldn't cross the 40 per cent mark, while the BJP got over 41 per cent votes. RLP was the third largest party with just 2.31 per cent vote share, making these elections bipolar.
While the BJP is yet to announce a Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje held a press conference after her victory at Jhalrapatan and gave credit to PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda and party workers for this win.
Of the seven MPs fielded by BJP, Baba Balaknath, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Diya Kumari and Kirodi Lal Meena won, while Jhunjhunu MP Narendra Kumar, Ajmer MP Bhagirath Choudhary from Kishangarh and Jalore MP Devji Patel lost.
Of the six royal faces on the fray, all of them won, five from BJP and one from Congress. Meanwhile, Congress's big faces Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot and Govind Singh Dotasra won.
