A Supreme Court bench of Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala has allowed Nupur Sharma’s plea of clubbing and transferring of FIRs registered in different states to New Delhi.

Now the combined investigation for all the FIRs will be undertaken by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) of the Delhi Police.

Till the investigation is ongoing, the interim measures granted to Sharma shall remain in force. Additionally, the court has clarified that Sharma would be at liberty to approach the Delhi High Court for quashing the said FIRs.

The court was apprised that in spite of the protection granted on the previous hearing, the West Bengal Police had summoned Sharma on different occasions.

The court had therefore issued notices to the State of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Telangana and Maharashtra to cooperate in the investigation.
