The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced multiple initiatives to help Tamil Nadu achieve its goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030.
At a press meet in Chennai, R Nandini, the Deputy Chairperson of CII Southern Region announced plans to collaborate with the state government to turn Tamil Nadu into a media, entertainment, and animation hub.
Kamal Bali, the Chairman of the CII Southern Region, stated that CII will collaborate with the governments of southern states to develop state-level policies to drive Manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
Further, he announced that the CII will create a State-level Task Force on Digital Transformation to aid industries in their move towards digitization. This will prepare CII member companies for Industry 4.0.
In addition, he said that the organisation aims to create vision documents for six districts in the state and provide guidance to MSMEs on various aspects like enhancing their competitiveness and adopting global best practices.
In April 2023, the government of Tamil Nadu selected Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to prepare the strategy and plan for achieving the goal of a $1 trillion economy by 2030. The report is expected to be out in a few months.
