Mukesh Ambani, the chairperson of Reliance Industries, received a third threatening email on the morning of 30 October, in which an unidentified sender demanded a ransom of Rs 400 crore. This incident marks the third threat email that Ambani's company has received in just four days, as reported by a police official.
Following the receipt of the first email, which sought a ransom of Rs 20 crore and was sent by an unidentified person on Friday, an FIR was registered at Gamdevi police station based on a complaint filed by the industrialist's security in-charge.
On Saturday, the company received another email, this time demanding Rs 200 crore. In the latest development, the company received a third email on Monday, where the sender doubled the ransom demand, according to the official.
The Mumbai police, along with their crime branch and cyber teams, are actively engaged in efforts to trace the sender of these threatening emails, Money Control reported.
It's worth noting that in the previous year, the Mumbai police arrested an individual from Bihar's Darbhanga for making death threats to Mukesh Ambani and his family members. The accused had also threatened to detonate the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.
