Prime Minister Narendra Modi has scheduled a Union Cabinet meeting for 6:30 pm on Monday (18 September), coinciding with the ongoing special Parliament session. The meeting will take place within the Parliament building.

While the specific agenda of the meeting remains undisclosed, it is anticipated that it will involve discussions on the pivotal bills slated for consideration during the special session, India Today reported.

Eight Bills are listed for consideration and passage including the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill 2023.

The first day of the five-day special session is being convened in the old parliament building and will move to the new building from tomorrow onwards. Follow the latest updates here.

Leaders of various political parties shared their memories and experiences of India's parliamentary democracy and further extended suggestions for the future course of action.

Yesterday, an all-party meeting was held and a bulletin instructed members to gather in Central Hall of Parliament at 11 am on Tuesday “for a function to commemorate the rich legacy of the Parliament of India and resolve to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047."
