"Why Seek Certificate From Kejriwal?": Punjab BJP Chief Questions Delhi CM's Involvement In Bhagwant Mann Govt

The Punjab BJP chief, Sunil Jakhar, expressed his doubts about Bhagwant Mann's decision to invite Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Punjab for the inauguration of welfare schemes.

Jakhar stated that the people of Punjab have elected Mann as their Chief Minister, and there is no need to seek validation from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor.

According to the Indian Express, Jakhar's comments came after Arvind Kejriwal visited Patiala to launch the 'Sehatmand Punjab' mission, which aims to revitalise government hospitals in Punjab.

Kejriwal, along with Mann, also inaugurated an intensive care unit and other facilities at Mata Kaushalya Hospital in Patiala.

Jakhar questioned the necessity of seeking Kejriwal's approval, stating that Mann has been elected by the people of Punjab.

He also pointed out that Kejriwal had previously inaugurated a School of Eminence in Amritsar, which Jakhar referred to as a re-dedication of an existing Smart School.

He questioned why a CM from another state needs to be called frequently for inaugurations. In a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Jakhar advised Mann to focus on his responsibilities and take care of his turban.

He accused the AAP government of playing a "cruel joke" on the people of Punjab with the 'Sehatmand Punjab' scheme, claiming that the only accomplishment they had to showcase was a refurbished hospital ward with ten beds.

Questions were also raised about the unfulfilled promise of generating an additional Rs 30,000 crore in revenue through transparent sand auctioning, a reformed liquor policy, and other means.

According to Jakhar, the AAP government has failed on every front, and the increasing debt burden on Punjab should concern every Punjabi.

The remarks made by Kejriwal, urging all parties to expel leaders involved in drugs, were seen by the BJP leader as a warning specifically aimed at the Punjab Congress.

He pointed out that in Delhi, Kejriwal had commented on the arrest of Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira in a drugs case, stating that he had limited information about the situation.

Jakhar claimed that Kejriwal's message served as a warning to Opposition leaders, although he did not mention any specific names.

Additionally, Jakhar accused Mann of using government resources, such as PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) buses, and exploiting teachers, rural development officials, and revenue officials for political purposes.
