The counting of votes for Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Goa has begun on Thursday (10 March).
According to the recent exit polls, Yogi Adityanath-led BJP is set to retain power in Uttar Pradesh with some predicting a huge pro-BJP wave in India's most populous state.
In Punjab, the exit polls predicted that AAP may come to power, a first for the Arvind Kejriwal-led party outside Delhi.
In Uttarakhand, a close contest has been predicted between the Pushkar Singh Dhami-led BJP and Congress.
In Goa, a hung assembly has been predicted by the pollsters as the two main parties in the state - BJP and Congress - are unlikely to secure a majority.
In Manipur, BJP is set to retain power with a near comfortable majority, according to the exit polls.
