In a bid to acknowledge the contributions of all those involved in the successful organisation of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reportedly planning to have dinner with Delhi Police personnel this week.
Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora has requested a list of outstanding personnel from each district, ranging from constables to inspectors, who performed exceptionally well during the summit last weekend, NDTV reported citing sources.
It is anticipated that around 450 Delhi police personnel, including Arora, will join the Prime Minister for dinner at Bharat Mandapam, the venue of the G20 Summit.
This upcoming event is not the first time that PM Modi has shown appreciation for the efforts of individuals involved in significant achievements.
In May, prior to the inauguration of the new Parliament Building, he felicitated the labourers who played a crucial role in its construction.
Earlier this week, some Delhi Police personnel were honoured with the Commissioner of Police's special commendation disc and certificate for their valuable contributions to the G20 Summit.
According to an order dated September 11, the "smooth, professional and precise execution of the colossal G20 arrangement, which saw participation, commitment and contribution from the entire rank and file of Delhi Police, was made possible only by the shared sense of pride and ownership in the overall objectives of the mega arrangement by every participant".
