Fugitive Khalistan-supporting preacher Amritpal Singh has fled to Nepal. The Indian embassy in Kathmandu has requested the Nepal government to prevent his escape to another country via Nepal.

According to this report in The Kathmandu Post, Nepal’s largest-circulated English daily, the Indian’s embassy’s department of consular services wrote to the Nepal government Monday (March 27) afternoon claiming that Singh was in Nepal.

The letter (a copy of which is with The Kathmandu Post), sent to Nepal’s Foreign Ministry, requests the Nepal government to arrest Amritpal.

“The esteemed ministry is requested to inform the Department of Immigration not to permit Amritpal Singh to travel through Nepal for any third country and arrest him if he attempts to escape from Nepal using Indian Passport or any other fake passport under intimation to this mission,” the letter said.

Nepal’s foreign ministry forwarded the letter to the country’s interior (home) ministry which, within an hour, circulated Singh’s personal details to all police stations, border checkpoints, hotels, airlines, airports and other agencies.

The Nepal interior ministry’s letter said that the fugitive Singh holds multiple passports with many fake identities.
