In the early morning hours of Friday (5 May), another Hindu Temple in Australia — the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Rosehill suburb of Western Sydney, was vandalised by notorious Khalistani goons.
Being the fourth such instance of attack on Hindu temples in the country this year, amidst the rising wave of Khalistani terrorist sentiment, the front wall of the BAPS temple was painted with hateful graffiti, “Declare Modi Terrorist (BBC),” along with a Khalistani flag hanging on the gate of the temple.
On discovering the same in the morning, the temple authorities immediately notified the police and authorities, after which relevant CCTV footage was collected and efforts have been underway to nab the goons.
The member of parliament for the Parramatta region where the temple is located, Andrew Charlton, reached the site on being informed of the Hindu hate incident.
He severely condemned the act and emphasized no tolerance of the government for any kind of religious extremism, including against Hindu temples being seen increasingly in the recent past.
He was seen helping the temple authorities repaint the wall where the graffiti had been strewn. The temple authorities are yet to issue an official statement.
Notably, earlier this year, another BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Mill Park, as well as the historic Shiva Vishnu Temple in Carrum Downs and the ISCKON Hare Krishna Temple in Melbourne were victims of Hindu Hate vandalism.
With the display of the Khalistani flag at the temple gate accompanying the vandalism at the BAPS Temple in Rosehill suburb, there is indication of an emboldened act on part of the Khalistani terrorists.
This comes amidst the recent assurance by the Australian PM Albanese, of strict action against perpetrators of such attacks, on his recent visit to India where PM Modi had raised the issue with him.
PM Modi is scheduled to visit Australia on the 24 May this year for the QUAD Summit.
