CAB Factoid: 80 Per Cent Of Beneficiaries May Be Persecuted Dalits From Three Countries

Let’s examine the uproar raised by a few political parties on the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) and realise the futility of each viewpoint.

One, the Congress is calling the bill communal because Muslims have been excluded from it.

This amendment is being proposed in the original Citizenship Act of 1955 that was drafted under former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru which excluded Muslims. Is the Congress saying that Nehru drafted a communal bill?

Two, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is calling the CAB discriminatory and communal. It is weird logic as the bill doesn’t discriminate between any class of minorities in the said three countries, and Muslims are not a minority in the three Islamic countries.

Three, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) too is resisting the CAB and they should be singularly ashamed of this. Hindus, Sikhs and Christians face inhuman atrocities in these three Islamic states. And 80 per cent of Hindu refugees from Pakistan and Bangladesh belong to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe groups. If anything, BSP should be laying out the red carpet for these brave, but unfortunate, Hindus trapped in a forsaken land.

Four, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi is saying that CAB will lay the foundations of another partition. There is no logic or data to support this absurd statement. How will reaching out to the persecuted minorities result in creating a wedge between Hindus and Muslims of India?

Let us now examine the real reason behind CAB. The only reason for CAB is humanitarian, with the government reaching out to Hindus, Sikhs, Christians and other minorities in these countries who suffer atrocities just for following their faith.

The European Union parliament published a report in May 2019, where it has been authentically recorded that 1,000 girls from the minority communities were abducted and forcibly converted to Islam in Pakistan every year. That is three girls, every single day.

All this is done by religious zealots like Miyan Mitthoo of Bharchandi Shareef and Ayub Jaan Sarhindi under full state protection. The courts, police, politicians, army and media are all united in this exercise of Hindu-Sikh-Christian genocide.

The businesses of Hindus and Sikhs are constantly taken away by use of the draconian blasphemy law in Pakistan .

The demographic inversion of Hindus and Sikhs in the three countries is a stark and unfortunate reality. Hindus have come down from 12 per cent to under 2 per cent in Pakistan, from 22 per cent to 8 per cent in Bangladesh, and from a few lakhs to few hundreds in Afghanistan.

Either the Indian state could have thrown its hands up in the air or lent a helping hand to these forgotten victims of Partition.

The CAB was necessitated by the rapidly changing geopolitics of this subcontinent too. As Pakistan raises Kashmir at every international forum available to it, India also needs to shame Pakistan for what it is doing to minorities.

The Indian government should be lauded for this visionary and courageous step to help the most unfortunate people in this subcontinent — the Meghwals, Bheels, Kolis, Odhs, Valmikis and other Dalit communities. This one step of outreach to these most disempowered Hindus will go a long way in healing the wounds of Dalits in the subcontinent and giving them a fair chance at respectful living.

If the human rights activists and self-proclaimed liberal political parties oppose CAB, that will only imply that these fake liberals have double standards on human rights.

They go radioactive over any persecution anywhere on the global circuit, but cat gets their tongue when the victims are Hindus or Sikhs.

This bluff lies brutally exposed after CAB and the world will finally take notice of a forgotten genocide in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. If the world has to remain a place of justice and equality, such horrendous crimes cannot go on unresisted.

CAB might actually prove to be a gilded cab for the persecuted minorities of these three Islamic nations. A cab these persecuted people take to ride out of their dishonour and misery towards honour and freedom.
