Har Ghar Labharthi? PM Modi To Kick Off Two-Month Long Nationwide Drive Today To Expand Coverage Of His Government's Schemes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up to launch a large-scale government program this Wednesday, aiming to boost the coverage of various government schemes across the country.

Later today (15 November), the Prime Minister will inaugurate the ambitious government initiative, 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra,' marking an unprecedented attempt to improve the coverage of various schemes launched by his government over the last nine years across the nation.

Commencing the yatra from Ulihatu village in Jharkhand's Khunti on the birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda, PM Modi's visit to Ulihatu will be a landmark, as he becomes the first Prime Minister to visit the birthplace of the revered figure.

The yatra's trajectory is strategically planned to commence in districts with substantial tribal populations initially, gradually expanding its footprint to encompass all districts nationwide by 25 January 2024.

This monumental journey, executed through a fleet of 3,000 vans, is slated to span two months, covering a staggering 2.5 lakh gram panchayats and 15,000 urban locations. Each van is slated to spend two hours in a gram panchayat, diligently reaching out to potential beneficiaries who may have inadvertently been excluded from government schemes.

The primary focus is directed towards the lower and middle-class demographics, ensuring that any oversights are rectified to guarantee their access to the benefits of these schemes.

The outreach, political analysts say, is likely to pay off as Labharthis (a group of beneficiaries of government schemes) has emerged as a new bloc of support for the Prime Minister and his party.

The initial phase of the yatra, until 22 November, will encompass 393 tribal blocks in 69 districts across 21 states and union territories, touching upon 9,000 gram panchayats. Subsequently, the campaign will fan out to cover additional rural and urban areas.

Party leaders, including Chief Ministers and Union and state ministers, and Governors will be stationed at various locations throughout the yatra.

In states undergoing elections, the yatra's initiation will be timed post the conclusion of the model code of conduct.

A total of 118 vans are set to be flagged off on 15 November, signifying the commencement of this monumental campaign.

Prime Minister Modi alluded to his upcoming visit to Jharkhand during a rally in Madhya Pradesh, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.

"These are the last days of the elections, but after two days, I will go to the village of Birsa Munda…these are our priorities," remarked the Prime Minister.

Additionally, as part of this momentous event, Prime Minister Modi will disburse the 15th instalment amounting to approximately Rs 18,000 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) to more than 8 crore beneficiaries, further cementing the government's commitment to inclusive development and welfare.

Prime Minister Modi is also set to launch the PM PVTG (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) Development Mission in the village of Birsa Munda. Marking a first-of-its-kind initiative since Independence, the Modi government will introduce a Rs 24,000 crore scheme aimed at ensuring the comprehensive development of PVTGs on the occasion of Jan Jaatiya Gaurav Divas.
