Officials report that the biggest Naga armed group involved in the peace process, National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak Muivah) or NSCN-IM, will hold talks with the central government's mediator AK Mishra at Dimapur today.

In preparation for the upcoming official talks scheduled in New Delhi, meetings are being conducted to foster trust and assurance.

Thuingaleng Muivah is set to lead the NSCN-IM delegation, as per the report. A vital meeting aimed at resolving the impasse in the Naga peace negotiations is scheduled to take place at the Chumoukedima police complex in Dimapur.

The NSCN-IM was insisting on a distinct Naga flag and constitution, leading to a deadlock. They remained committed to the 2015 Naga Peace Accord, which aimed at resolving the insurgency issue in the state.

Despite a ceasefire agreement in 1997, negotiations between the central government and NSCN-IM were unsuccessful, leaving the peace talks unresolved.

In addition, AK Mishra is anticipated to hold discussions with the Naga national political groups (NNPGs) and various civil society groups in Chumoukedima concerning the unresolved Naga political matter.
