The Janata Dal (United) has revealed its candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Arunachal West, with Ruhi Tangung, the current party president in Arunachal Pradesh, set to contest, according to a report from The Hindu.
The decision follows the party president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's directive.
Notably, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju secured the seat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections with a significant 63.67 per cent of votes.
In an official press release dated 3 January, JD(U) announced its participation in the assembly elections scheduled alongside the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
This move aligns with the recent unanimous election of Nitish Kumar as the president of JD(U).
Meanwhile, discussions among INDI Alliance parties regarding seat distribution for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are in progress.
