Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (27 June) said that the BJP's 'karyakartas' (worker) are the biggest strength of the party.

Addressing the party workers at 'Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot' event in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal, PM Modi said, "The biggest strength of the BJP is the Karyakartas. I congratulate Nadda ji and the leaders of the BJP-ruled states for conceptualizing this programme".

The event, during which PM Modi interacted with 10 lakh BJP booth workers, was also attended by Party president J P Nadda and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

"Today I am addressing 10 lakh booth workers simultaneously. Perhaps, in the history of any political party, there would never have been such a big programme in an organised way at the grass root level as is happening here today," he said.

"On the completion of 9 years of the central government, the information about the programs being organised across the country and the hard work you people (workers) are doing in it is continuously reaching me. Even when I was in America and Egypt, I kept getting information about your efforts," PM Modi said.

"As soon as I came back, I was happy to meet you," he added.

He said that unlike other parties' workers, BJP karyakarta don't sit in air-conditioned rooms but work on the ground.

"The Karyakartas of the BJP aren't like other parties who sit in air-conditioned offices and run party and issue 'Fatwas'. Our Karyakartas go among the people and visit villages irrespective of the weather," he said.
