Kerala To Teach Students Class 11, 12 Textbook Content Dropped By NCERT In Recent Revision

The Kerala SCERT has decided to teach the deleted portions from the NCERT's syllabus rationalisation process for classes XI and XII to students in Kerala, The Indian Express has reported.

According to sources in the SCERT, the curriculum committee recommended teaching the deleted portions, especially from history, in Kerala.

Consequently, it was decided that supplementary textbooks would be printed within the state.

Sources said the committee has entrusted the Education Minister with making the final decision.

The state Education Department will introduce supplementary textbooks for classes XI and XII to teach the deleted portions, according to sources in the SCERT.

This decision follows the state government's insistence on maintaining the original curriculum.

NCERT syllabus rationalisation for classes VI to XII won't impact Kerala state students all the way through as they only rely on NCERT textbooks for classes XI and XII, say sources.
