Mohan Yadav and Vishnu Deo Sai, the newly appointed chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh respectively, are set to be sworn in on Wednesday, with PM Modi and other senior BJP leaders in attendance.

After the suspense over the chief ministers' names ended with BJP announcing their 'surprise' CM choices, now there are speculations over the cabinet berths, which is likely to be put to rest with today's oath-taking ceremonies in both states.

Meanwhile, Bhajan Lal Sharma, the chief minister of Rajasthan, is scheduled to take his oath on 15 December.

Mohan Yadav, a 58-year-old influential OBC leader and thrice-elected MLA, was appointed as the new Chief Minister of MP, throwing off all previous speculations about potential candidates for the role.

Known for his close ties with the RSS, Yadav first secured his position as an MLA from Ujjain South in 2013 and successfully retained his seat in 2018 and 2023.

In addition to his political achievements, Yadav is highly educated, holding an LLB, MBA, and PhD. He previously served as the Higher Education Minister in Shivraj Singh Chouhan's cabinet.

Meanwhile, Vishnu Deo Sai, a 59-year-old former Union minister and former MP, is set to make history as the first tribal chief minister of Chhattisgarh.

His appointment by the BJP, which took control of the state from the Congress, came as a surprise given his low public profile.

However, Sai has extensive experience in electoral politics and grassroots work.

Vijay Sharma and Arun Sao will serve as the deputies to Vishnu Deo Sai. Former chief minister Raman Singh will be the Speaker.
