Mathura: PM Modi Set To Attend 'Braj Raj Utsav' On 23 November, Hema Malini To Perform On Birth Anniversary Of Meera Bai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to participate in the 'Braj Raj Utsav' in Mathura on 23 November, where he will witness film actress Hema Malini's presentation on the birth anniversary of Meera Bai, officials reported.

Modi is anticipated to visit the Shri Krishna Janambhoomi temple and Banke Bihari temple to offer prayers, concluding with an address at a public gathering at Railway Ground.

However, the detailed schedule is yet to be finalised.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inspect arrangements for the PM's visit, including a visit to the Banke Bihari temple and a meeting with temple priests.

Mathura MP Hema Malini is scheduled to perform on 23 November upon the PM's arrival, accompanied by the issuance of a postal ticket and a proposal for the beautification of Sadhana Place, as stated by Nagendra Pratap, CEO of Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad.

The Saint Mira Bai Fest, commemorating her 525th birth anniversary, will be prominently celebrated from 23 to 25 November during the ongoing Braj Raj Utsav.

A dance drama based on the life of Meera Bai, featuring Hema Malini, is slated to take place at the Railway Ground fair, with over 800 artists from different parts of the country participating.

Additionally, a screening of the 1979 film Meera, starring Hema Malini, is scheduled at Rupam Talkies on 24 November, along with the showcasing of the 1947 film Meera, featuring Shubhalakshmi, on 25 November.

Moreover, a national seminar on Meera Bai is planned for 24 and 25 November at the Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium on the Veterinary University campus, with eminent scholars from across the country invited as speakers.

During his visit, CM Adityanath is likely to discuss the development prospects for a dedicated corridor for the Banke Bihari temple, akin to the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi.

The corridor plan faced legal challenges as local residents and temple representatives approached the court against the proposed land acquisition.
