Prime Minister Narendra Modi will distribute about 71,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits in various government departments and organisations under the Rozgar Mela on Thursday (13 April).
Rozgar Mela is a scheme for employment which was introduced by the Central government in October last year.
The selected candidates, who come from different parts of the country, will join various positions and posts under Central government such as Train Manager, Station Master, Constable, Inspector, Sub Inspectors, Stenographer, Junior Accountant, Postal Assistant, Tax Assistant, Income Tax Inspector, JE/Supervisor, Assistant Professor, Teacher, Nurse, Librarian, PA, MTS, among others.
The Prime Minister will also address the newly inducted appointees during the distribution of appointment letters via video conferencing.
According to a PMO release, the Rozgar Mela initiative is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accord highest priority to employment generation.
The Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.
"The newly inducted appointees will also get an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, which is an online orientation course for all new appointees in various government departments," the PMO said.
