Vasundhara Raje, a two-time former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, has been nominated as the Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate for the Jhalrapatan constituency in Jhalawar district.
Notably, Jhalrapatan has consistently elected Raje as a Member of the State's Legislative Assembly on four previous occasions.
During the 2018 assembly elections, Raje secured an impressive victory with more than 54 percent of the total votes, defeating her closest competitor, Manvendra Singh of the Indian National Congress, by a substantial margin of over 34,000 votes.
This announcement regarding her candidacy for the upcoming election follows persistent speculation about disagreements between Raje and the central leadership of the BJP, particularly concerning the party's control in Rajasthan.
