'Sanatana Dharma Is The Only Religion, Rest All Sects, Methods Of Worship': Yogi Adityanath Responds Amidst Ongoing Row Over Sanatana Dharma

DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin's controversial comments on Sanatana Dharma have sparked a response from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Adityanath has asserted that Sanatana Dharma is not just a religion but the only religion, while considering all others as mere sects and methods of worship.

During the 'Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya' event, Yogi Adityanath emphasised the significance of Sanatana Dharma.

He stated, "Sanatana Dharma is the only religion, the rest are all sects and methods of worship. Sanatan is the religion of humanity and if it is attacked then there will be a crisis for humanity across the globe".

The Gorakhnath Temple hosted the seven-day 'Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya' event, which concluded with a final session addressed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

This session marked the end of the event and its purpose was to pay homage to Mahant Digvijay Nath on his 54th death anniversary and Mahant Avaidyanath on his 9th death anniversary.

The 'Shrimad Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya' event was organised to commemorate the anniversaries of two revered figures, Mahant Digvijay Nath and Mahant Avaidyanath.

Held at the Gorakhnath Temple, this event aimed to promote the teachings and principles of Sanatana Dharma.

Chief Minister Adityanath emphasised the importance of having an open mindset in order to understand the vastness of Shrimad Bhagwat's perspectives, despite any narrow-mindedness that may be present.

He also added that the story of Bhagwat is limitless and cannot be confined to specific time periods. It continuously flows, and devotees constantly incorporate its essence into their lives.

Yogi Adityanath has previously stated, "The needs of the country and society are the priority of a saint. Mahant Digvijaynath ji was one such saint. He fought against the challenges of his time".

The Chief Minister further explained that Mahant Digvijaynath, belonging to the Rana clan of Mewar, Rajasthan, dedicated his life to the motherland while fighting for the country's self-respect.

He actively participated in numerous religious and political rituals in an effort to bring about positive change in society.

The Chief Minister said, "Mahant Digvijaynath ji, after joining Gorakshpeeth, first laid emphasis on education and established Maharana Pratap Education Council. To imbue the young generation with nationalism, he expanded his institutions."

He further added, "The Education Council established by him has contributed to the establishment of a university and has established its own university. Besides, by establishing four dozen educational training institutes, it is working to prepare the young generation to tackle challenges related to the nation and society."
