In his response during the Lok Sabha debate on the no-confidence motion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned his focus towards Rahul Gandhi, delivering pointed remarks on multiple occasions. From rebuking Rahul for his comments on Maa Bharti to critiquing his "Mohabbat ki Dukaan" and more, PM Modi took several swipes at the Congress leader.
"Some people here were wishing for 'death of Bharat Mata', how can they speak like this," PM Modi said, referring to Rahul Gandhi's speech the previous day.
During the second day of the no-confidence motion debate, Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp critique of the Narendra Modi government's handling of the situation in Manipur.
"The politics of the BJP has 'murdered Bharat Mata' in Manipur," alleged Rahul, further labeling members of the ruling party as "traitors."
Rahul criticized Prime Minister Modi for not making a visit to Manipur and suggested that the PM doesn't consider the state as a part of India, which evoked strong protest from the treasury benches.
In his response, the PM Modi highlighted that he had visited the Northeast region of India fifty times.
PM Modi's second thrust against Rahul Gandhi revolved around the Congress leader's concept of "Mohabbat ki dukan."
"They talk of Mohabbat ki Dukan but they run 'loot ki dukaan', 'nafrat ka bazaar', they sell partition, Emergency, atrocities, and appeasement politics," PM Modi said.
During the third instance of critiquing the former Congress president, PM Modi reiterated the notion expressed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah of "failed launches."
"For years they have been launching 'failed products', but every time it 'fails'," PM Modi said, taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
