Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (27 June) slammed the Opposition parties that attended the meeting at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence in Patna on 23 June.
“I have never seen the opposition parties squirm like they are doing now. Those who used to abuse, are now doing the saashtaang pranaam, they are bowing down. This is their compulsion,” he said.
“It’s clear from their nervousness that the public has made up its mind to bring the BJP government in the 2024 elections. That’s why these parties are freaking out, and have decided they will mislead the public before the elections, level false allegations and gain power," he added.
In an apparent jibe at Congress, PM Modi said, “nowadays, the new word is being popularised, the word is ‘guarantee’".
“It is now BJP worker’s responsibility to tell the citizens that the guarantee is about corruption. It’s a guarantee about the scam of lakhs of crores," he said.
PM Modi was speaking at the 'Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot' event in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
During the event, he virtually interacted with over 10 lakh BJP booth workers across the country.
“A few days ago, a photo op programme was organised by them (Opposition). When you see the photo, you will realise that every person in the photo is a guarantee of Rs 20 lakh crore (20,000 billion) scam,” said PM Modi while hitting out to the opposition parties rallying to challenge the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
"Some people only live for their party. They want to benefit their party only. They do this because they get a share from the corruption, commission and cut money. They have chosen this path because they don't have to work hard," the Prime Minister said.
He asked the booth workers to tell the people about what they got by voting the party.
PM Modi further said that those who sought votes from people in the name of 'pariwar' (family), they only did growth of their families.
Citing most of the family dominated parties including Congress, PM Modi says those who want the growth of the successors of these families should vote for them and those want growth of own family members should vote for the BJP.
"If you want the welfare of Gandhi family's children, then vote for Congress. If you want to see the welfare of Mulayam Singh's children, vote Samajwadi party. If you want the welfare of Lalu's children, vote RJD.... if you want to see the welfare of Karunanidhi's children and grandchildren, vote DMK, and if you want welfare of KCR's children, vote TRS," PM Modi said.
"However, if you want to see the welfare of your children and grandchildren, vote BJP," he added.
