In a significant development, the United States has expressed its readiness to collaborate with India in sending an Indian citizen to the International Space Station (ISS) by the end of 2024 according to a report from Times of India.
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, leading a high-level US delegation, made this announcement during his visit to India aimed at enhancing space cooperation between the two nations.
The selection of the astronaut for this historic mission will be conducted by ISRO, and details of the mission are currently under development by the Indian space agency.
Additionally, Nelson extended congratulations to India for being the first to land on the Moon's south pole and expressed the US' willingness to collaborate on building India's own space station.
The visit also included discussions on launching the NISAR satellite by the first quarter of the upcoming year.
