Indian Army Thwarts Infiltration Attempt By Terrorists In J&K's Poonch; Three Terrorists Apprehended, War Like Stores Recovered

The Indian Army and the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) have foiled an infiltration attempt by several Pakistan-backed terrorist in the Poonch region of J&K.

Terrorists attempted to infiltrate the Line of Control (LoC) under the cover of darkness on the night of 30/31 May, exploiting the bad weather conditions marked by heavy rainfall.

In response to the observed suspicious movement of the terrorists, the Indian Army swiftly executed an ambush at around 01.30 hours. This action effectively thwarted the infiltration attempt.

In the ensuing firefight, three terrorist were caught. Warlike stores including one Improvised Explosive Device (IED), drugs and some weapons have been recovered from the three terrorist.

Furthermore, search is on to apprehend other terrorist belonging from the same group after blood trails of other injured terrorists have been found.

One Indian Army soldier, however, has been injured in the firefight and has been evacuated.

The security forces and the Army has launched Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) to nab the remaining terrorists.
