Bengaluru Central Crime Branch has averted a major terror incident as they arrested five suspects for planning explosions in the city.
A hunt is on for five more suspects who were helping them plan the explosions.
According to a report by Deccan Herald, the five terrorists, namely Junaid, Syed Sohail, Umar, Mudasir and Jahid, were arrested for allegedly planning bomb attacks in Bengaluru.
The five accused were earlier arrested in Bengaluru Central Jail (Parappana Agrahara) for committing murder in 2017. According to the report, they came in contact with a terror-related convict in the jail.
The Karnataka State Intelligence Division following suspicions alerted the Central Crime Branch, which arrested them. A large amount of explosives, cash, mobile phones and laptops were recovered from the five accused.
The state police suspects the five accused to be planning explosions bigger than the 2008 explosions.
