According to police sources who spoke to NDTV on Wednesday (13 December), a significant security breach in Parliament was orchestrated and carried out by six individuals.
Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan were the two individuals who set off yellow smoke canisters in the Lok Sabha, while Neelam Devi and Amol Shinde detonated red and yellow canisters outside the Parliament complex.
The fifth person involved in the plot, Lalit Jha, provided accommodation in his Gurgaon home to the other four before they carried out the breach. The identity of the sixth individual remains undisclosed; both this person and Lalit Jha are currently evading capture.
Preliminary investigations have determined that the individuals who set off the smoke cans inside the Lok Sabha are Sagar Sharma from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and D Manoranjan from Mysuru, Karnataka. The two apprehended outside the Parliament are Amol Shinde from Latur, Maharashtra, and Neelam Devi from Hisar, Haryana.
The anti-terror cell of Delhi Police has arrested all four individuals and they are currently under interrogation.
Entrance passes from BJP MP Pratap Simha's office were provided to Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan, who caused a shocking disruption after being seated in the Lok Sabha's visitors' gallery.
Per the authorities, the group of six convened online and collectively devised the scheme.
Additional details have been disclosed by the police, such as the Aadhaar cards for Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan. Meanwhile, reportedly, Neelam Devi, aged 42, is a teacher who is preparing for the civil services.
Neelam's brother has stated that she played an active role in the contentious 2020 farmers' protest against the government's trio of farm laws, however, she has no affiliation with any political party.
