The India versus Pakistan matches of the highly anticipated Asia Cup games will take place in Sri Lanka, as is confirmed by IPL chairman Arun Dhumal.
The decision was made as it was clarified that the Indian team will not be traveling to Pakistan.
Dhumal, who is currently in Durban for the ICC Chief Executives Meet (CEC), stated that BCCI secretary Jay Shah and PCB representative head Zaka Ashraf met to finalize the schedule ahead of the ICC Board meeting scheduled for Thursday.
The Asia Cup schedule, including four league stage games in Pakistan and nine games in Sri Lanka, was discussed and confirmed during the meeting.
Dhumal also dismissed reports from Pakistan media claiming that India would travel to their neighboring country, as their sports minister Ehsan Mazari had been stating in some quarters.
According to Dhumal, there was no discussion held regarding India's travel to Pakistan, contrary to reports that have surfaced. He clarified that India will not be travelling to Pakistan. The only thing that was finalized was the schedule, he added.
Pakistan's only home match in their country will be against the minnows, Nepal.
