During the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 finals between India and Australia on Sunday, a pitch invasion occurred when a man wearing a 'Free Palestine' t-shirt attempted to hug Virat Kohli.
The individual, dressed in red shorts, sported a white t-shirt with the message 'Stop bombing Palestine' on the front and 'Free Palestine' on the back.
Additionally, he wore a face mask in the colors of Palestine and carried a rainbow flag.
The pitch invader was swiftly apprehended, leading to a brief halt in the match.
After the security officials took control, the game resumed, and Virat Kohli and KL Rahul aimed to rebuild India's innings after the team lost two quick wickets.
The incident took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, which was filled with cricket enthusiasts for the highly-anticipated World Cup finals.
The intruder was subsequently brought to the Chandkheda Police station, appearing in different attire without his face mask.
The disruption occurred amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Hamas, with the invader aiming to express a message of solidarity with Palestine.
