Twitter is likely to relaunch its paid verfied subscription service on 2 December, with different color checks for companies, government organisations and individuals.

"We’re tentatively launching Verified on Friday next week," Twitter CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet today (25 November).

He said that different color checks will be applied for companies, government and individuals.

Further, all verified accounts would go through manual authentication prior to activation of colour check to avoid misuse of the paid subscription service.

"Gold check for companies, grey check for government, blue for individuals (celebrity or not) and all verified accounts will be manually authenticated before check activates," Musk tweeted.

Earlier on 21 November, Musk said that Twitter is holding off the relaunch of its blue check verification service.

Musk had earlier announced that the service will relaunch on 29 November.

The tech billionaire took to Twitter to inform that the service launch is being delayed until "there is high confidence of stopping impersonation".

Musk also informed that the service, when relaunched, may use different color check for organisations than individuals.

"Holding off relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation. Will probably use different color check for organizations than individuals," Musk tweeted.

The revamped Twitter Blue subscription was rolled out in the second week of Elon Musk's takeover to grow the revenue of the micro-blogging website. However, it was taken down after the misuse of its features at a massive scale.

The coveted blue check mark was previously reserved for verified accounts of politicians, famous personalities, journalists and other public figures.
