Thirteen-year-old Khushi has set a new world record. She performed some of the toughest yoga asanas 15 times in under a minute.

Khushi performed the Niralamba Poorna Chakrasana at the Community Hall in RBI Nagar, Mysuru.

The Poorna Chakrasana, or Complete Wheel Pose, is a complete back-bend posture. In this asana, the entire body is meant to resemble a wheel. There exist many benefits to this pose. They range from the strengthening of core muscles and toning of the body to the unapparent benefits to the digestive and nervous systems.

Khushi’s performance took place under the supervision of a representative of the Golden Book of World Records. She had initially practised the asana 13 times but outdid herself when she performed it 15 times under a minute in the main event. An incredible feat that is compounded by the fact that she only started doing yoga less than three years ago.

Khushi said she was inspired to work on this asana after watching a performance by Japanese performance artist Kenichi Ebini on the popular American reality television show, America’s Got Talent, and realised that she too was flexible enough to do the moves outlined there.

She credits her father for motivating her to go after the world record.

Khushi has also received many medals for her performance in national and international yoga events.
