A leader of the Pakistan terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Mufti Qaiser Farooq, was reportedly killed by unidentified individuals in Karachi.
Farooq was a founding member of LeT and had close ties with Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack.
According to Pakistan's Dawn newspaper, Farooq, aged 30, was shot in a "targeted attack" near a religious institution in the Samanabad area on Saturday (30 September).
Police sources reportedly revealed that Farooq sustained gunshot wounds to his back and was rushed to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Additionally, a 10-year-old boy was injured during the attack.
Videos claiming to show the CCTV footage of Mufti Qaiser Farooq's assassination circulated widely on social media. However, the authenticity of these videos could not be independently verified.
