The Israeli government has decided to bulldoze the home of the Palestinian terrorist, who attacked the Jerusalem Synagogue and killed seven people.
The decision to demolish homes comes after two shooting incidents targeting Israeli civilians, resulting in a spat of violence, which has killed dozens of people just this month.
The home of 21-year-old Khayri Alqam — the attacker of the Jerusalem Synagogue “will be sealed immediately ahead of its demolition”, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet said.
Netanyahu's cabinet also moved a proposal to remove social security benefits of the relatives of the attacker, to punish “the families of terrorists who support terrorism”.
The government is also planning to allow ordinary Israelis access to gun rights, to better defend themselves.
Similar scenes have been playing out in India’s Uttar Pradesh, where its Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the demolition of houses and other properties owned by hardened criminals, dons and mafias.
Just last year, after the violent protest in the city of Prayagraj, the house of the main accused Javed Mohammad was demolished. The house of another gangster, Mukhtar Ansari, was also similarly demolished by the government.
The move is so popular with the people of the state that, Chief Minister Adityanath is now commonly referred to as “Bulldozer Baba". Moreover, other states, like Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, have also adopted the same model to deal with criminals.
