Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, another group of stranded Indians was brought back to India on Saturday as part of the country's repatriation mission, Operation Ajay.
A special chartered flight carrying 235 Indian nationals, including two infants, departed from the Ben Gurion airport on Thursday at 11.02 pm local time.
Representatives from various state governments were present at the Delhi airport to receive the returning nationals. External Affairs Minister of State Rajkumar Ranjan Singh also interacted with them.
The evacuation of Indians is set to continue tomorrow.
The Indian Embassy announced on Thursday that they have emailed the next group of registered Indian citizens for the special flight, with messages to other registered individuals to follow for subsequent flights.
There is a significant population of Indian nationals residing and working in Israel, estimated to be around 18,000. This diverse community includes caregivers, students, IT professionals, and diamond traders.
