Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked global leaders for extending their support to India's G-20 Presidency.
India commenced the presidency of G-20, which it took over from Indonesia last month, on 1 December.
In a tweet on Monday (5 December) on India's G-20 presidency, French President Emmanuel Macron said, "I trust my friend Narendra Modi to bring us together in order to build peace and a more sustainable world".
Responding to Macron's tweet, PM Modi said, "Thank you, my dear friend Emmanuel Macron! I look forward to consulting you closely during India's G20 Presidency, as we work to focus the world's attention on the issues that affect humanity as a whole".
In response to a congratulatory tweet by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, PM Modi said, "Your solidarity is vital. Japan has contributed a lot to global well-being and I am confident the world will continue to learn from Japan’s successes on various fronts".
PM Modi also thanked US president Joe Biden for his support to India's G-20 Presidency.
Responding to a tweet by US president, Prime Minister Modi tweeted,"Your valued support will be a source of strength for India’s G-20 Presidency. It is important we all work together to build a better planet".
