Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a summit of Quad leaders in Sydney, Australia on 24 May, along with US President Biden and his counterparts from Australia and Japan.

The Quad summit will likely discuss the implications of the Ukraine conflict and the overall situation in the Indo-Pacific.

Ahead of the Quad summit, PM Modi is also expected to attend G7 summit in Japan's Hiroshima, which will be held from 19 to 21 May, Indian Express reported citing sources.

Japanese PM Fumio Kishida had invited PM Modi to G7 summit during his visit to India last month.

In the Quad summit, the leaders are likely to announce measures to strengthen Indo-Pacific cooperation amid rising Chinese military assertiveness in the region.

Biden will be present at both G7 leaders' summit in Hiroshima and Quad summit in Sydney, according to the White House.

From Japan, PM Modi may visit a Pacific island nation before attending the Quad summit in Australia.

It should be noted that official announcement regarding PM Modi's proposed foreign visits is yet to be made.
